COMMENT : Ms. Anjali; the dogs in Goa and in India are at least living in a “civilised” (sic) way on our streets because the neighbourhood is full of trash that they live and survive on. Had the environment been clean as in other countries where no animals nor edibles nor garbage seen, nor accessible; any human being can imagine what a hungry animal is capable of doing. We HUMANS do not suggest culling as the only way to control population and rabies. There are alternatives. We have so many “animal control people” (sic) in India who can very well adopt all these strays and confine them to an enclosed farmyard of their own, instead of them being a perennial threat to human life in the form of rabies, in road traffic accidents; a threat to our school going children, a menace of littering dumped garbage, a menace of defecating all over our cities, etc., etc. Dr. Ferdinando dos Reis Falcão.
