*Meet Ravi Vaz, the new Vice-President of the Goan Association, UK* >From Ravi Vaz: Born in Goa, I was brought up and educated in Mumbai. My father, Late Mr A.B. Vaz was the ex-President of the Goan Association in Mumbai and hails from Cuncolim while mother hails from Velim, Goa. We have always been strong supporters of Konkani language and Goan culture, enjoyed organising events and actively serving on committees. I completed my Bachelor of Engineering in India with distinctions and worked as a Senior Project Manager with Larsen & Toubro (Mumbai). I moved to U.K. in 2003 after being recruited by a leading food manufacturing company as their MIS Manager. I have settled down in London with my wife Jennifer and daughter Erin. I have always been passionate about connecting and working with the Goan Community and look forward to serving as the Vice President of the Goan Association (UK). Congratulations to new young blood being introduced; commiserations and sorrow on the exit of the former V.P. I have enquired and have not heard of a Goan Associaton of Mumbai, people have not heard of a Goan Asssociation of Bombay. I hope and trust that this is not an embellished C.V. Mr. Vaz is I believe is chairman of the forthcoming Global Goans Convention. I stand corrected if any one can shed light on this one. P.S.Courtesy of Goan Voice (U.K.)
