To Goanet - I was in Vanxim island (off Divar ) this morning, one of the handful of un-spoilt havens now left in Goa. Near the jetty is this board. "Gaunekar" here refers to Mahendra Gaunekar.

There are murmurs that Mallya is behind the project. If you go over to Gaunekar's Facebook page, you can see that "Dr" Mallya is among his Interests - http://www.facebook.com/mahendra.gaunekar At any rate, empty sloganeering will not save Vanxim. There are hundreds of crores of rupees to be made in destroying this idyll and opening it up to commercial exploitation. Attempts will be made (if they haven't already been made) to soften the villagers with cash. What is the current status of this ratf*@k? Regards, r
