The readers of Herald were subjected to yet another of the mental treats from
known chefs of the non-goan literary cuisine that have come to assume the role
of a 'goan intelligensia'. We have an ever growing tribe of such literary stars
from the Indian panorama descending in Porvorim and surrounding villages of
Bardez. The guided tours of the village in cars with Haryana and Maharashtra
number plates scouting for a suitable peice of land or a old house is a common
site.
Could someone tell us where in India, non-locals are bathed in ghee and curd
should they try to teach the locals a lesson or two in driving or discipline?
You are definitely not a local dear. How can you ever be one when arrogance and
ego gets sold under your name and on the number plate?
