SLUT WALK Indians are very much enamored by foreign labels and thoughts. The contagion of adopting the nomenclature of slut walk/Besharmi is abhorrent The participants in the west wore skimpy,short,transparent outfits to change the mind set of men and to demonstrate that they have the freedom to dress as and what they like. Is one day protest will produce results intended .? The result was a remark of police official who asked them to dress like sluts The culture there is of indifference to the attire, which is normal and is not considered as provocative of sexual overtones A couple kissing passionately in Times square, New York to my great surprise was completely ignored by crowds and passers by even as I tried to record observation for half an hour In India it would be a circus. In India even the modest dress of sari ,salwar kamij cannot be safe from x ray eyes undressing women mentally The rapes against women, abuse, molestation are not directly related to immodest, provocative outfits The study of medical interns with all their knowledge has found that they are not not immune to these tendencies Indian culture of dressing is not suggestive normally, but recent trends in fashion and liberation of women with the desire to be independent and outgoing may sometime invite special attention towards themselves The freedom to express in dressing ,must consider the tradition and culture of the place, so as not be outstanding, drawing curious attention The participation of men along with women in modest dress in the Delhi slut walk is symbolic in nature that will not change the attitude of those males bent upon taking forceful advantage of situation The women working alongside with men .late hours, of work ,partying has created situations that favour this barbaric uncivilized promiscuous behaviour. The increasing cases of divorces, economically independent, educated women .live in relations, the ease of communication ,movements have also uprooted the traditional values of fidelity. The Indian films are aping the west in conveying loose moral messages and the serials are goading infidelity The easy availability of phonographic DVD`s are corrupting the young minds Look at the advertising industry, which is using women only to catch attention by vulgarity , obscenity and ladies themselves act as willing prey lending themselves to this degradation for the lure of money Hence the whole environment is glorifying these acts as if it is perfectly normal.
