2-8-2011 Sub: Illegal houses/hutments built in Open Space opposite Sameer Apartments, near Hotel Ameya, St. Inez and conversion of Open Space into Volleyball Court. Dear Sir, This is with reference to an open space located opposite Sameer Apartments, near Hotel Ameya, St. Inez, Panaji-Goa. This is to bring to your notice that a few unauthorized houses/ hutments have been built there along with bathrooms. The dirty water from the bathrooms keeps spilling onto the adjoining road and is causing a great deal of inconvenience to the public, apart from creating a stench and health hazards to residents of the area. Mud, debris, garbage, etc is also consistently dumped just outside Sameer Apartments and often spills onto the road. I have also received complaints from the residents of this locality that a Club house has been built illegally in this open space, and the open space has been converted into a Volleyball Playground for the Youth of the Bandh, when the Open space in fact was intended to be a garden/recreational area for all the residents of this locality. You are requested to kindly look into this matter, and to initiate steps to restore this place back to its original purpose. You are also requested to take urgent action against the unauthorized houses/hutments that have been built here, which is causing immense damage to the surroundings and the environment. Kindly also ensure that no further mud, debris or garbage is dumped there, and to take strict action against those who are dumping their waste in that area.
