(Navhind Times) Deshprabhu held in illegal mining case The Nationalist Congress Party general-secretary and former MLA, Mr Jitendra Deshprabhu was arrested by the crime branch in the illegal mining case after the sessions court rejected his anticipatory bail plea on Thursday. The sessions court on rejecting the anticipatory bail plea also refused to grant him time to approach the High Court in appeal. Mr Deshprabhu was then promptly arrested by the crime branch personnel. Mr Deshprabhu, who was indicted by the crime branch for the alleged large-scale illegal mining, had moved the session court on July 16 seeking bail after he had failed to respond to three summons to be present at the crime branch for interrogation.
