(letter sent to Editor of Herald)
The edit titled “Gagging the press will only choke the police” (Herald
9/8/2011) is a case of the pot calling the kettle black. Has not the Editorial
team of Herald resorted to gagging and choking of public opinion in a bid to
manufacture consent in favour of those issues and persons the newspaper wishes
to promote? When this is the pathetic state of journalism, what moral right
does the Editor have to give lessons to the police department on how it needs
to conduct itself? Herald needs to first clean its own backyard for it to
qualify for cleaning the mess of others.
