S M Krishna assures Goa delegation to restore Goa's Haj quota
Union Minister for External Affairs, S M Krishna today assured the Goa delegation which was led by Chief Minister Shri Digamber Kamat that the Ministry will restore Goa’s Haj Quota.
Other members of the delegation included Rajya Sabha M.P. and AICC Secretary, Shri Shantaram Naik, South Goa M.P. Shri Francisco Sardinha and Chief Secretary of Goa Shri Sanjay Srivastava.
Shri Kamat told Shri Krishna that last year Goa was allotted 277 seats whereas, this year, the quota has been reduced to 81 seats.
At present there are 77 pilgrims who are wait-listed and that there are about 100 more aspirants, who have to be accommodated, the delegation told the External Affairs Minister.
Shri Krishna gave immediate instructions to his officials to do the needful to restore Goa’s legitimate claim.
