http://www.navhindtimes.in/goa-news/ccp-makes-registration-dogs-compulsory The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has made registration of dogs under its jurisdiction compulsory, with the owners of the sterilized dogs having to pay annual registration fee of Rs 100, while those owning un-sterilized dogs having to pay Rs 1,000 per annum. COMMENT : There cannot be discrimination! The street dogs within the jurisdiction of the Corporation too need to be registered, with the C.C.P. or the “Animal Groups” as owners. Else the private pet owners should refuse to register. It is the street dogs that cause public nuisance rather than pet dogs, and pet dogs in no way are any burden to the Corporation that they should be taxed. Dr. Ferdinando dos Reis Falcão.
