Govt of few, by few, for few. Democracy is no more of the people by the people and for the people It is now felt that it is for the M.P`s ,BY the M.P.`s and for the M.P`s Parliament is supreme The opening line of the Constitution, “ We the People..........” is to be substituted, “ WE the M.P.`s........” Two lakh crowd is not representative of one crore of population in Anna`s movement When the M.P gets elected by a few hundred or thousand ,he is not the representative of the whole constituency and has no right either to speak for all of them , nor India at large Besides so called majority is less than 50-60% of the electorate taking part in electoral process Most of the so called representatives in the Parliament only record presence to claim allowances At any point of time the seats are empty during important debates These representatives, many of them, never participate in debates It may be, they are not all qualified to be a part of legislative process or the time is lionized by a select Few all the time. Indians are proud that many of the M.P`s are holding degree of criminal record , but the mere election provides them halo of respectability and honour and bestows on them crown of glory and immunity from any prosecutions The voice of the people is reduced to numbers, and they are not bound to listen to the voice of reason. They can decide in isolation of people concerns and in a vacuum Their personal wisdom of a few out of 539 plus is infallible and they are above any suggestion This pure arrogance and simple at its best. May they answer, who plants them in the supreme garden of the Parliament? Is it their birth right and hereditary inheritance ? what is standing of the people who vote them in ? Almost all legislations are the result of people emancipation and clamour for relief against inequities Every body knows the process of election ,as it is to day is seriously flawed You cannot expect that any Party parties or M.P.`s will bind themselves in knots by using Parliamentary privileges Natural instinct of self preservation, self aggrandizement will determine the course most beneficial to promote selfish interests. The gauntlet thrown to the activists to enter election and win to come to the parliament is absurd argument. As it is said, that one need be doctor to express a medical opinion. Or an architect to suggests changes in drawings, nor an advocate to espouse legal loud thinking If one stretches that argument or extrapolating can say that M.P.`s educationally unqualified without legal background or any experience are a distinct disadvantage to legislate , the main business of the parliament. True laws are made in the Parliament and not on maidans ,by threat of fasts, Where do the M.P.`s seek their elections and by what honest means ? It is a challenge to any M.P. to draw crowds of this magnitude at their election rallies and without transport . goodies and other incentives of mind boggling nature Do they swear and put into operation the so called bible of Election Manifesto? The movement of Anna is self motivated for a cause unprecedented in the history of independent India, The blunders of UPA II have made him a martyr, an idol, a celebrity sweeping the Nation on the crest of popular wave and uprising The more they malign and assassinate his character and integrity, the more he is buoyed with the up thrust of faith and confidence of the masses The cancer of corruption must be eradicated in action and not by rhetoric ,vilification and legal clichés and constitutional provisions overriding the reality of mass uprising Nelson lopes Chinchinim 9850926276
