So finally the opportunistic Anna Hazare has put his own foot in the mouth. The PM has done the right thing to get all drafts for consideration before Parliament. Now Anna is nervous and the larger agenda of the jaundiced forces has been neutralised. Abuse of anything is bad and now contempt for Anna is not far away from the same public. Palm sunday will turn to Good Friday shortly. Rumaours of Bharat bandh on 30th Aug which is made to coincide with Id is enough proof of the hands behind the stage. -Soter
Response: While the Indian cricket is in such a sorry state, Soter, ex and clearly disappointed member of the BJP has used an unfortunate metaphor to describe the fumbling of the Kangress govt of India's Mr Clean, Manmohan Singh. Sadly for Soter, Manmohan's googlies were as effective as those of Harbhajan and Amit Mishra on their latest tour of England and just as those googlies got thrashed all over the park, so was the Kangress Government and hapless Mr Singh. The first googly was bowled by him in April when following the fast by Anna at Jantar Mantar, he panicked and invited Anna and his team to sit and negotiate with a team of ministers. Second googly was not involving either the official opposition or any of the other political parties in these discussions. Third and perhaps the most spectacular googly was when Anna was arrested and sent to Tihar Jail where three prominent parliamentarians from Manmohan's ruling disposition are cooling their heels on charges of corruption amounting to over two lakh crores Fourth googly was to hide behind Delhi police Fifth googly was to release Anna within two hours of declaring him a threat to peace and jailing him. Probably the final googly was to ask leader of the opposition to investigate his assets and give him a clean chit. Just as we saw hapless Harbhajan at Lord's live, the whole world has seen the inept handling of this whole issue by arrogant, corrupt Kangress mafia. Yet, even they do not, claim anymore ( they did try initially and even blamed US) that Anna's movement is supported by the BJP but of course Soter being a previously member of the BJP, a benefit that some of us have not had, has inside knowledge and hence the authority with which he writes. Crux of the matter is this: Why will Kangress want a strong Lokpal? They have been forced to investigate massive corruption only under duress due to the intervention of the Supreme court. Now, they have even appealed against the Supreme court decision to appoint SIT to investigate the serious matter of black money stashed abroad? Turkeys very rarely vote for Christmas. So, as it happens every year, Good Friday will follow Palm Sunday. However, whether all Fridays and other days will be corruption free or whether corruption will be brought under control by proper legislation by a very corrupt political system remains to be seen. Until then, Manmohan's Googlies will only be appreciated by the likes of Soter while many Indians like me who find many faults in the way Anna has batted so far will be aghast that he has managed to hit, not only Manmohan's googlies but the entire political system for a six.
