The very successful Goa Sudharop International Youth Convention held in July 2011 in San Francisco, California, inspired many of our youth attendees to take a leadership role and initiate projects and engage themselves with Goa as they plan for the next International Goan Youth Convention in December 2012 in Goa.
Several projects were identified and additional communication will follow in due course. One project is the "Color me Goa/Draw a bridge project" lead by young Jason Fernandes (about 15 years old) and his team to gather basic school supplies for two Orphanages in Goa (one will be selected in North Goa and one in South Goa). The basic school supplies for orphans will be collected in North America and sent to Goa. We request you to seize the opportunity available at your local "Office Max" store and purchase these items before the sale ends. Alternatively, "Office Depot", "Staples", "Target" also have some sales. For those of you who want to support this project for the 2 orphanages in Goa, please stop by your nearest "Office Max" or similar stores and you can purchase the following FOR LESS THAN $.50 cents/person 2 boxes of Crayola Crayons - 24 count $.15/box 2 boxes # 2 Pencils - 12 count $.05/box 5 spiral bound notebook - 70 pages $.01/each So take every member in your family and/or your friends and at $.50/per person you can buy the above for the children in the Orphanages in Goa. If 20 people did this for $10 dollars we will be able to send 40 boxes of crayons, 40 boxes of pencils, 100 notebooks.
