Warning to the registrar`s It is an open secrete about the obnoxious, disgusting happenings at this Govt. facility. They are supposed to keep the records of death, marriage and birth in safe custody with a master copy. Even recent certificates are not available. There is no control on the clerks issuing the records at their own sweet time Even when the duplicate xerox copy is provided, it is not available after ten days and as promised. These endless visits are a nuisance and cause of corrupt practices The out put should be monitored by maintaining daily logs daily There should be provision for obtaining certificates in an emergency by paying extra amount It is not enough to display that years during which birth and death, marriage certificates are not available. The Govt which is at fault should be held accountable. When they cannot service the requests , why does the govt put limits of validity period. ? The process of reconstruction of lost records due to the carelessness of the Department, should be simple and quick For the catholics as i know the records maintained by the church are impeccable and not subject to nay manipuilations Registration of deeds of sales , documents of will, succession certificates, relinquishment , registration of marriagesetc are all at a price for discharging normal duties for , which they are paid salaries They are all used for expectations and gratifications as a matter of right The head has hardly any interest and time to monitor these services as a matter of his charge It may be interesting to find out the truth, that these postings at important talukas, where the land sale transactions are the highest are not by normal process of transfers. It is believed that the registrar`s are obliged to keep the higher ups in a jubilant mood by regularly, forcefully, siphoning off a part of the collection. Hence they are under hidden pressure to be dishonest The land tariffs are not fixed at every Taluka, towns and cities and therefore the discretion of the Registrar`s is indisputable and which means one has to take prior consent, as to the the price to be incorporated In case you choose to disagree, the process of submitting back to the collector for evaluation , estimation is cumbersome , time consuming . The clients are not patience and the lawyers stand to loose business, if they act smart. The Govt. does not want to fix the prices , because they will have to pay higher compensation on acquisitions There is a tentative list, but none refers or adheres to it The warnings are only for public consumption , when there is some expose.
