Wendell Rodricks
Inspired by and designed to reflect the fluidity and stillness of pure
water, Wendell – master-of-resort wear- Rodricks’ collection was
presented in four parts, each with a colour and theme. Beginning with
white and ecru skirts and layered dresses with sheer organza coats, it
proceeded to more fluid satin, in similar silhouettes, rendered sexier
by the choice of fabric. Flared pajama-trousers and 1960’s tunics made
an appearance as well. Moving on to rippled, textured fabric there was
further play of sheer and opaque, with the addition of colours blue and
pink. Fluid, dramatic shapes are the designer’s forte and they were
present in plenty, though our wardrobe picks would be possibly limited
to the basic white, full skirt with organza hem and the shoes:
Lace-covered peep-toe booties.
