Tanisi Kirtani bagged a double crown at the All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament organised by Rotary Club of Panaji in association with Sports Authority of Goa. In the finals played at the Indoor Stadium, Campal-Panaji on Sunday, Tanisi, the top seed, won her mini-cadets girls event defeating Abigail Cunha 11-9, 9-11, 11-5, 11-4 while in the cadet girls, she upset Urmila Mense 5-11, 11-5, 13-11, 11-6. Urmila however came back strongly in the sub-junior girls to avenge her defeat by defeating Tanisi with a straight sets 11-7, 11-4, 11-9 score line. Meanwhile, Vaidik Srivastav beat Atharv Nadkarni 11-4, 11-8, 11-6 to win the mini-cadet boys. In the cadet Boys, Wesley Do Rosario was made to work hard by Sidhant Parekh before winning the title 11-6, 1-11, 11-5, 11-4 in four sets. Yash Salgaokar, playing a game of aggression and composure, won the sub-junior boys event beating Sidhant Parekh 13-11, 11-9, 11-6. Promising player prizes were won by Shawn Araujo and Sachi Pai Kane. Later, prizes were distributed by Cheif Guest Mr. Gurudas Bhakta(President, Goa Olympic Association), Special Guest Mrs Rupa Bhakta, Guest of Honour Dr. Vinaykumar Raikar and Vero Nunes(President, GTTA) in the presence of Ashok Mhambre(Secretary, GTTA), Sunil Parekh and Irwin Cordo(NIS Coach). Earlier, Subhash Sajane, President of Rotary welcomed while Club Secretary Nester Sequeira later proposed the vote of thanks.
