All, What we need to understand is that this is not the end of increase in Fuel Prices, in the coming months we will see more rise in prices, it's a well-known fact that prices of crude increases in winter, if the winter is severe then it will be more.
If we are really interested in bringing the prices down, then let's make a pledge to walk to our offices, if they are too far, then lets at least cover some distance that will save our cash, let's keep our cars at home and stop buying any more bikes, the more cars, bike we put on the road the more we will increase the price, and last of all lets walk to church, rather than getting up late and rushing to church on Sundays. Thirdly lets tell all the ministers to travel by one bus so that at least we will save fuel for the bikes and car that follow, such small steps, if we can sincerely take then we can not only reduce the consumption of fuel, and fuel prices, but save the environment and thereby reducing all health risk......... but there will be no one listening to me. Half will blame the govt. that they themselves have elected and half will blame others for it, it's time we try and do our bit, from tomorrow, I will be walking at least half the way to my office... stop taking my car out...... come on join me Lenny D'Souza -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Nelson Lopes Sent: Thursday, September 15, 2011 8:06 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Goanet] Another petrol hike PETROL HIKE The petrol hike is going through the roof. The decontrol of fuel prices is an excuse for the uncomfortable Govt to reduce subsidies and loses incurred by oil companies The price rise will have cascading effect on spiraling prices The amount of free fuel to all govt. functionaries and Ministers, governors, speakers MLA`s M.P.`s is a substantial burden There is no talk of controlling , reducing the free facility. The licence to manufacture cars, scooters is aggressively pursued. These policies encourage use of petrol, cause congestion, pollution, accidents, parking problems etc In stead the Govt should promote mass rapid transport by buses, so that people will depend less on private transport There is hardly any loud thinking to seriously address the need. The Govt does not curb all its wasteful expenditure to make a dent The fleet of petrol guzzling vehicles of the Govt are a status symbol. Besides the Govt, earns substantial revenues from the sale of fuel. There is no determined effort to encourage fuel efficient cars. Alternative fuel resources are not tapped to run the cars There is no alternative than to suffer in silence, as what cannot be cured must be endured' Persons used to wallow in luxury will not mind the rise after sometime, and the initial resistance will soon give way The rise is attributed to external costs, But when the price of the imported crude is decreased , there is no decrease in local prices. Then there is need to cover the past loses Is not true that what goes up never comes down, literally the prices? The cost of petrol at Rs 75 a litre is very high considering the standard of living and per capita income of Indians This is an unbearable burden that will cast its shadow on all fronts The Govt by freeing prices has absolved itself of all the blame The possibility of increase in LPG cylinder, kerosene cannot also be ruled outThere are many other subsidies, like food ,fertiliser , which hardly reach the target group They are gobbled up by the rich farmers ,income being exempt from tax. Many nonviable popular schemes to woo the voters and add to the cost of subsidies There is no doubt the biggest foreign exchange component is on oil import bill. What happens to all the oil productions locally . does it have to cost the imported oil prices ? It is said that revenues from fuels are largest and quick, sure collections It is better to go the bullock cart, cycles, trams, horse carriages to offer resistance Is not resistance supposed to curb demands? There are no protests now as it is already taken for granted as inevitable and the target of attack are oil companies so dispersed from focus nelson lopes Chinchinim 9850926276
