So finally what we had predicted some months ago about GRA has nowbeen manifested. The intentions of GRA were predominantly protecting electoral interests rather than Goan interests. Su Raj has ascended in the skies and the rakhondars have buried themselves in the earth.
GRA claims it will field good candidates. By what standards will this 'Good' be ascertained? By Goa State Pollution Control Board standards, 'Eureka Forbes' standards or 'NDTV-Toyota' bench marks? Every political party ultimately believes it is fielding Good candidates. Good by what standards is the question. There are experts who are Good at turning black into white. Good at promising you the sky and ridding you of your land. Good at signing what one may not necessarily speak about. Good at cheating without getting caught. .............Good at presenting s shinning Goemkar image. We are also mindful of the fact that there is lot of Goan NRI cash to exploit this season, only if you use the right Goan jargon to melt their hearts till they drip unceasingly. Anything is possible to change in Goa today by sitting in UK or USA. Our heart also goes out to the thousands of Goans who will be without a vote in this election because they are foreign citizens, choosing to live in their own land as foreigners. Watch out Digambara! You will not be able to withstand the velocity of the GRA till the votes get counted.
