THE INTERNATIONAL CENTRE GOA Goa University Road, Dona Paula - Goa Justice Santosh Hegde to speak on ‘Proposed Goa Lokayukta Bill’ on 25th Sept at International Centre Goa
I am pleased to invite you to workshop/ seminar on the Proposed Goa Lokayukta Bill on Sunday, September 25th 2011 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm at The International Centre Goa (ICG). Justice (Retd.) N. Santosh Hegde, former Justice - Supreme Court; former Lokayukta of Karnataka and Hon. member of Jan Lokpal Bill Drafting Committee will address the workshop/ seminar. The programme is open to all and there is no registration fee. This is part of the Series of Programmes on Good Governance initiated by The International Centre Goa since April this year. Justice Hegde will primarily comment on the Proposed Bill. The Goa Law Commission’s Report on Establishment of the Institution of Lokayukta to inquire into grievances and allegations against public functionaries in the State of Goa and to make provision for the appointment of the Lokayukta and Upa Lokayukta and for the matters connected therewith will be discussed at the workshop/ seminar. The workshop/ seminar will deliberate on the brief history of the Goa Lokayukta Bill passed by the Goa Legislative Assembly in 2003, comparison between the earlier Bill and the new proposed Bill and the comments by Justice Hegde on the merits and demerits of the proposed Bill.
