I join Roland in greeting Vic and wishing for many more happy and productve
years with us.
As for the pension of our dreams, I wish I could be more optimistic.
Our country had cheered on an unemployed actor to the White House in a year,
1980, when I had paid taxes at a fifty percent rate.  Hollwood math then found
me at half that rate on a much larger income, for decades.
To match Pooteen's fifty billion, they spend five hundred a year, mostly in
lucrative armament contracts to friends on the Los Angeles golf strips.  The
party will end soon, sadly, as the friendly gnomes in Tokyo and Shanghai who
put up two billion a day start to sink into a morass of their own.  It does not
help that 'our Arab' carbon is  shipped increasingly to Kandla, not Kentucky.
I am due checks from two bankrupt entities, one the big Bush borrower, the
other a locality pauper who may neither borrow nor place portraits and numbers
on baked paper pulp - the stuff known as federal currency.
Rolly - save some maple syrup for me !                eric.

Happy birthday Victor. May your quality of life continue to well beyond
hundred, especially if you are a pensioner.
Get those pension funds to pay out the maximum, I always say.
