The speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, Mr. Pratapsing Rane,
interrupted the ongoing question hour this evening to read the communique
received by him informing the house that Mickky Pacheco's appeal for bail
has been dismissed by the Sessions Court and has been taken into custody, to
be lodged in the Sada jail. Mickky has been convicted in case of assault on
the electrical engineer of the electricity department and sentenced to 6
months simple imprisonment with a fine of Rs. 1500/- or additional 15 days
imprisonment for default of the payment of the said fine.
The news was received in the legislative assembly with stone silence.
