Support for Sanjeev Bhatt The IPS Officers Association in Gujarat have expressed solidarity with their own officer in great distress It is self preservation instinct that united we stand divided we fall. The visit by three officers has reassured Bhatt`s family of their support For Mrs Bhatt , who has apprehension about safety of life of her husband , this is a welcome ray of hope in the the dark, She has been unable to meet him or talk to him and this minimum courtesy should not be denied even to the worst criminal There are also reports of Bhatt being denied basic facilities The ransacking of her premises, by about 35 policemen, searching for the elusive documents is really intimidating The lock up atmosphere was deliberately intended to subdue an Officer of the rank? On her request the Home MInister P.C intervened in the matter asking for safety of both family and Bhatt. Such quick response would not be forthcoming for any other citizen even in greater distress Was it right for the centre to entertain or even encourage a dissident officer of Gujarat to consider the request for a black berry phone for secret communications possibly against the state ? Many people around also expressed their disappointment about this bravado. The general support to Bhatt all over India should not be misconstrued with the facts of his indiscipline etc. The intensity of feeling for the general public against police excesses is on a different latitude The stock answer of the police very often is that the aggrieved can knock the doors of Justice. Why can`t the police now wait for the legal justice to give relief to Bhatt? The citizens` have tasted the highhandedness, arrogance and brutality of the police many times Why Bhatt was not castigated 20 years back , for planting Narcotics and the State paid almost One lakh as a result? Why timely action was not taken about his absent ism and insubordination thus far? How was Bhatt promoted several times in spite of serious confidential note tings ? Is it not a fact that once promotions are considered, the previous adverse remarks against the employee are non est? Has Bhatt now fallen of grace, when all the while he was protected and overlooked in his serious short comings of offences and crimes? The unity of IPS Officers in Gujarat is bound to rattle the administration and give a headache to the C.M, battling on different fronts. Very often the police force carries out the illegalities to please their masters against law abiding citizens with impunity and fabricated charges Now the police is feeling the heat or rather getting the taste of their own medicine? The action against Bhatt at this juncture is highly suspect It is more than a coincidence that it has come too soon after he filed an affidavit against Modi, implicating his role in 200 infamous Gujarat riots and also the fake encounter case What the People are asking is whether a forced affidavit, even if it be true, certifying Bhatt`s presence at the meeting of C.M deserves such harsh treatment ?What about more serious crimes and excesses of Gujarat Police in fake encounters? Surely the citizens feel that the action is by far too deterrent in proportion to the perceived crime Even denying him bail in such circumstances only strengthens the vindictive attitude of Gujarat administration Everyone must seem to be treated fairly and justly according to the gravity of the crime Why was unlimited tolearance shown to this erring Officer so long and timely action not taken as per the service rules in force?
