It is to be understood that Newspapers and News Magazines which make it big
are doing so by cutting every corner that the 4th Estate is under oath to
preserve and uphold. It is 'Dog eat Dog' thing. The modus operandi is to
have a very active and dedicated intelligence collecting cell, operatives
well paid an all that. These operative nose in on huge stories of
corruption and money laundering involving multi-nationals, politicians et
al. But when they report these stories to the base, they are told to forget
the whole thing, take you salary and perks and stay quiet, while the owners
of the channel, magazine or noospaper cut under-hand deals with the exposed
for payoffs, huge advertisements etc etc. This has happened before and it is
happening now and it is utmost demoralizing to the operatives who feel that
they have been waylaid. There are certain owners of Channels, News Magazines
etc who have swooped down on Goa's innocence ( or should I say gullibility
of Goans/) and are seen to be buying properties left-right and centre. They
have the money to dangle in front of our Municipalities and Panchayats (who
in turn are waiting for such openings) to get what they want, whether these
things conform to the rules & regulations in force. Trees are cut, houses
demolished and re-built or extended and no one is the wiser. Ultimately,
what we do not see on the surface and least suspect is a highly protected
and highly placed prostitution trade.
Moira, once a peaceful village, which still is, but not for long, is seeing
Mega Builders and Mega (national) News Magazine owners wanting to change all
this. In the developing world, going against development is a taboo where
sane, thinking persons can be branded as anti-development zombies. This is
WHY Goa needs to be slapped with SPECIAL STATUS to preserve what is Goa's
heritage and what is gold for Goans. The question is: WHO IS LISTENING?
If the Portuguese, in all of those 450 years, exacted massive damage on Goa
and Goans ( of which we are being brainwashed),the Indian Colonizers have
tricked stupid and gullible Goans into believing that this is their nation
and therefore they must be proud of it...... and get washed out and be
neutralized, diluted, caput. Hello! What happened to the flowery promises
that Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had showered on Goans before and after the
INVASION in December, 1961?? in??? Are you turning in your grave (if you had
one), Sir?
