Gabe,
Thanks for this report which had two bits of info for me:
1) I did not realise that Lloyds was a govt run bank. I will have to avoid it
as experience has taught me that when politicians appoint people to run govt
owned businesses, they chose their friends rather than the most qualified
person for the lob. As a result, these businesses usually fail.
2) I had to wonder if the above article is 'paid news' ala Mayabhushan. Maybe
the 1% are on an aggressive public relations mode to justify to the 99% how
well they deserve their obscene salaries. As far as stress tests are
concerned, how about this one from today's, The Globe and Mail, Toronto?
Mom is a multitasker
“A Scottish woman who took her driving exam while in labour said she passed the
test and drove herself to the hospital to give birth,” reports United Press
International. “Emma French, 20, of Livingston said her water broke about 4
a.m. on Aug. 30 and she decided to take the 8:40 a.m. driving exam when the
baby did not immediately come, The Mirror reported Tuesday. ‘Everyone was
telling me to go to the hospital, but I had waited so long for my driving test,
I was determined to do it,’ Ms. French said. [She] said she kept her
contractions, which were about 10 minutes apart, a secret from the examiner and
drove herself to the hospital after passing the test.”
