Introducing LORREE K. MONTGOMERY-SLYE a phenomenally gifted vocalist who has a
compelling message to inspire our nation. She is a proud U.S. Army veteran who
rendered a dynamic and heartfelt presentation of a “PATRIOTIC MEDLEY” at the
historic Blues Alley in Washington, D.C.

This Arrangement of the medley was inspired by First Lady Michelle Obama who
commented, “What we’ve learned over this year is that hope is making a
comeback. It is making a comeback...let me tell you something...for the first
time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country, not just because
Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.”

LORREE performed this patriotic rendition to an enthusiastic audience during
two shows at Blues Alley on February 26, 2009 and November 10, 2010, the eve of
Veterans Day. She received standing ovations from an audience comprised of
several servicemen and women.

LORREE a former Captain served in the U. S. Army Adjutant Generals Corps. She
comes from a military family and her father and siblings are all products of
the Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC) and graduates of Morgan State
University. Her father, Lawrence K. Montgomery, Sr., served for 22 years in the
U. S. Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Lissa and Lynnet, her sisters,
are a former Captain and 2nd Lieutenant and her brother Lawrence, Jr. is a
former Colonel.

LORREE is one of the most talented solo artists on the East Coast. She is very
well known in the Washington Metropolitan area and for decades has captivated
audiences all over the world. As a song stylist, she has been compared to the
renowned Nancy Wilson, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Roberta Flack.
However, her charm, soaring range and engaging presence put her in a class of
her own. She is an innovative “Inspirationalist”, with an extensive and diverse
repertoire encompassing R&B, pop and jazz and gospel genres.

Since 2008, LORREE has been sharing her gifts and talents with students at
Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass., where she serves as an Associate
Professor of Voice.

Please join LORREE at Blues Alley for 2 shows 8pm & 10pm on Thursday, November
10th and Friday, November 11th 2011. She will be recording her debut CD
featuring her rendition of “Patriotic Medley” giving tribute to Veterans who
have served to keep this country safe and free. Joining the stage with LORREE
will be Musical Directors, Joel Bryant, Edmond Charles, Bryant Pugh and E.
Reginald Reid; Guitarist, Stanley Cooper; Percussionist and her husband,
Richard Slye and Bassist, Percy White. Don’t miss true nights of inspiration
and performances you will never forget by this dynamic “SONGBIRD”.
