*“GOA THROUGH THE LENS” on 26th & 27th Nov at art escape & 29th & 30th at Dudhsagar resort* A SERIES OF PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS conducted by different photographers from around the India & around the world * * The photography workshops we call it *"goa through a lens" *where different photographers come from different places & conduct workshops on different topics, themes, concepts etc, from technical, theoretical, landscape,portraits,people,kids,activities,beaches, fashion, abstract,architecture, nature,waterfalls, mountains etc Art escape announces the first workshop of this season…a photography workshop conducted by *Hellmuth Conz* Hellmuth Conz, though a German by birth has called India home for over a decade now. A photographer with an ardent love for India, he has been inspired by its vibrant aura, culture, colours and people. India has been his muse for as long as he can remember. Hellmuth’s love story with the camera began at a very young age. At the age of fourteen he began formal training and graduated in photography from the University of Hamburg. People have always been his favorite subject, with their varying moods, gestures and expressions. He also loves architecture – the way light plays with the elements of the building, differently at different times of the day captures his imagination. Never one to sit at a desk, he freelanced as a photographer for a long time before taking up teaching. Art & life Baul & fAKIRI MUSICIANS these artistes are in goa from the 21st to the 29th and are staying at art escape…so the workshop will concentrate on this subject…folk musicians performing live for your lens. the workshop will concentrate of capturing the moods,emotions,expressions of the baul fakiri musicians from bengal … The essence of this workshop is portraits/expressions and live performances /movement by musicians.. The charges for the workshop are rs 2500/- for 2 days workshop. this includes a vegetarian lunch and tea. Accommodation is also available….double room with breakfast is 1000 -1200/- and double room without breakfast is 800 -1000/- we also have dormitories/shared acomodation 200-300 a bed… Special packages available workshop + accommodation Resident & non-resident packages available for the weekends. Schedule of workshop: Saturday 26th November *Day 1* 10.00 am – all participants meet at art escape, introduction session with *Hellmuth Conz & meeting the Baul & Fakiri folk artists.* 11.00 am to 1.00 pm –basics of photography technical session understanding your camera & the tricks to shoot potraits , expressions, nite shots, sun set shoots 1.00pm -2.00pm – lunch with the Baul fakiri musicians & start of the shoot 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm – shooting the artists 5.30 pm to 7.00pm -shooting the sunset with the artists 8.00pm to 11.00pm – action & movement shooting the artists live performing *(Plan note that participants who need to leave early & don’t want to remain for the nite session is open)* *Day 2* *Plan is to start early & do a breakfast session together (optional)* 10.00 am – all participants meet at art escape, discussion on the previous days work. 12.00 am to 1.00 pm –choosing best 5 images to create a photo narative 1.00pm -2.00pm – lunch with the Baul fakiri musicians & further discussion 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm – final session presenting the final images * * Requirements: A Digital Camera or any other camera & laptop (if u have one) carry it. The richness of the age old Dotara, Ektara, Dupki, Bansi (Flute), Khol, Bangla Dhol, and Khanjani tunes into the making of folklores and unforgettable moments. The amalgamation and convergence of the instruments is what we call Folk Orchestra…. Coming from the traditional roots of Bengal it brings with it the inextricable match of music and culture. Baul-Fakiri Baul-Fakiri Music is a rich, vibrant and living folk heritage of Bengal. These wandering minstrels sing about love and devotion. Their philosophy emerged in the seventeenth century. In a society stifled with superstitions, caste divisions, religious intolerance and malpractices, Bauls and Fakirs sang about humanism and brotherhood, celebration of life and nature.
