I received an email today with the singular phrase "fulloi popot" in response to my earlier post (see subj.). Could not possibly be a compliment but i'll take what I get. It cannot mean "awesome bro," unless my studies of the Konkani arcana is notw letting me down! But I have nothing against this person. Cannot, and will not. ++++++++++++++ My response: Although I relate to the phrase as in preening etc. I am not sure whether you are suggesting that I am tooting my horn. Tell me if I am misreading. I live my own life in the way I do. Not bad for an engine drivers kid!
Best. venantius j pinto ++++++++++++++ Popot is punned in Konkani slang to mean penis. parrot. Popot uttha (parrot rising), popot udtha (parrot flying). Unless I am completely wrong, fulloi popot also means--a show off, to show off, be a know all. I like this particularly because I doubt the said person even knows me. I have never had any interaction with him either. In some cases individuals wish to suggest friendship which sours on account of expectations. The latter is not the case either. In any case I have no rancour against this person. Any thoughts appreciated. ++++++++++++ venantius j pinto On Thu, Nov 24, 2011 at 3:51 PM, Venantius J Pinto < [email protected]> wrote: > Having your ace and eating it too > (DEL) > > http://venantiusjpinto.blogspot.com/2011/11/having-your-aces.html > http://venantiusjpinto.blogspot.com/ > > ++++++++++++ > venantius j pinto > --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Protect Goa's natural beauty Support Goa's first Tiger Reserve Sign the petition at: http://www.goanet.org/petition/petition.php ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
