Those with conflict of interest will continue to be Saviours of Goa. They may
build on hill slopes, design madrasas as residential houses, estimate forests
in mining areas, plan houses in CRZ, landscape gardens sponsored by miners, and
the rest. One can be on all the government committees and yet claim to have
been persecuted for taking a pro-people stand. Leave aside the fact that there
is not a single dissenting note on record. The minutes of the TF meeting are
hard to get. The presence of one NGO could be equivalent to 20 villages being
present is an interesting calculation. It is just so easy to boast of the
support of 50 villages and call others liars. Goycho Saib is benevolent and
understand the genuine errors of activists. It is progress when from 15 NGOs at
inception there now exist only around 5?
But if you like Prof. Edgar Ribeiro express a view diametrically opposite to
the self-ordained saviours of Goa, your integrity may be called to question.
And as the challenge to the domination of GBA by the village groups gets
fiercer, Goans can expect a nasty debate from non-significant GBA patriots.
GBA Premi Samiti. After all losing that power is threatening after all the emty
claims and bragging. It is just like a Sarpanch in power for 20 years suddenly
on the verge of being disqualified on grounds of corruption after complaints
from a novice in politics. He could come at anyone like a thunder bolt.
One can take a tour of Arpora, Salvador do mundo and Sangolda to understand the
mammoth contribution of saviours of Goa's hillslopes. After all building rules
in Goa are only meant for DLF and Raheja, isn't it? Something like the
interpretation of the CSJP's stand on the RP-2021?
