The struggle for rights to the name 'Goa Bachao Abhiyan' has taken an
interesting turn. The latest in the queue to hijack the name is Baba Ramdev.
After all the attempts to bait the people of Goa with outfits like Goa Against
Corruption, Bharat Swabhiman, Desh Premi and the rest, Goans were not
interested in biting the bait. So falling back on the name Goa Bachao Abhiyan
was the only alternative before the opposition political groups in the
desperation that elections are at hand. There is absolutely no doubt on whose
behest the Baba, Sri Sri, Anna and Padre have been intervening in Goa. The
issues are common - Lok Pal, Black Money, Alcohol, FDI, mining, prostitution,
dynastic politics. All is fair in politics. Politics makes strange bed fellows.
