The rally against the RP-2021 failed to generate that momentum as witnessed
during the anti-RP-2011. It remained more of a self-promotion exercise by some
activists of the Village Groups. If not for the Micky factor that actually
saved the day, the Village Groups could have been left red faced. A handful of
BJP and Baba Ramdev supporters were also spotted in and around. Reliable
sources reveal that Micky was heard expressing his displeasure with the
organisation and turn out at the venue to a politician cum VG activist, blaming
it on sheer arrogance of the village leaders. Aspiring and perspiring
anti-Congress politicians were seen hanging around the fence. It is now clear
that the Church is not behind the organisers as claimed by some right-wing
forces and in some sections of the media.
