Santosh,
No volunteer worth his salt will tread anywhere near what can be perceived to
be conflict of interests.
In my experience, a honorable volunteer will offer to step aside when his
efforts are not appreciated.
On the other hand, you always will have people who believe that the
organisation cannot, repeat cannot,
survive without them.
