It should come as no surprise that Goa in now a wholly owned subsidy of Bombay
and Delhi. There are quite a few places (Vasco for example) where finding a
Goan is difficult. The entire mining and building industries operate in an
illegal environment (with the connivance of Goans) and have fed a massive
influx of non-Goans into the state who have zero regard for Goa. In general, it
is difficult to find Goan-owned businesses.
The final nail on the coffin is the disrespect with which Goans are treated in
their own land. They are spat and crapped upon, and their response is "thank
you, sir". I saw first hand on Candolim beach on Dec 28 near the so-called
Sunburn "festival" the utter contempt many (not all) non-Goans have for Goa. Of
course, Goans are responsible for the current Goan hell they have created in
pursuit of a few pieces of silver.
