NEW GAMES AND NEW FACES TURNING OFF COURSE by Tulshidas ShirodkarThursday - Jan
5, 2012Goa’s politicians have started playing new games with Goans. They try to
used every opportunity to fool the Goans and as the truth is, they know they
can do so because we the Goans get fooled easily. They take the advantage of
the fact that Goans have become greedy for a few rupees and are ready to sell
their conscience and votes to them. We can say that is just like selling one’s
soul to the devil for a very little amount. Politicians have now started with a
new system of their own. They send their henchmen around the constituencies to
do some survey work. The survey is not to check on the voters but to check out
how many houses are locked and the residents are out of state and for how long.
This new brilliant step has been taken to ensure that the address of the house
is free for use. Goa’s politicians have started a new system of importing
people from Karnataka and issuing them the addresses of the locked houses.
These addresses are then used to legalise the new voter in Goa. This can be
seen predominantly taking place in constituencies like Taleigao, Panjim, Ponda
etc. Loads of migrants from Karnataka whom we fondly call “ghantis” are brought
to Goa by our politicians and are issued these addresses. Though the houses are
not issued but cannot say in future they may even do that and throw out the
Goans from their houses. Surely it must be in their plans. Those officers who
are in charge of checking out the details of the new addressee find it very
difficult as whenever they approach the houses are locked and notices pushed
through the door go unanswered. Such are our ‘an’naddi’ politicians of Goa.
Lesser the education of a politician of Goa the brainier he is in such
offending ideas. Will our Goans now living in Goa wake up and check out on
their politicians? Or are you still going to be susegad and lazy. Do not be
lazy else soon you will be on the roads and these imported voters from
Karnataka will be living in your houses.
