3rd Popular Tiatr Festival
3rd Popular Tiatr Festival organized by Tiatr Academy of Goa will be
held from 27th February 2012 to 11th March 2012 at the Pai Tiatrist Joao
Agostinho Fernandes Auditorium, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. All shows will
commence at 4:00 pm sharp. In all 10 or 12 popular tiatrs will be
permitted to participate in the Festival as per the availability of the
hall.
A popular tiatr is one which has at least 30 performances during the
period i.e from 1st January 2011 to 31st January 2012.
Three tiatrs which have won 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for performance in
the 2nd Popular Tiatr Festival 2010 will have direct entry in the 3rd
Popular Tiatr Festival. The remaining places will be filled by taking
lots if the number of applications exceeds the available slots.
Each participating troupe will be paid an amount of Rs. 20000/- and 70%
of the gate collection will be given to the performing troupes. A
nominal ticket of Rs. 40/- will be charged for those who are interested
in witnessing the tiatrs.
The participating troupe must take care that the unique format of Tiatr
is preserved while writing staging the tiatr. The unique format of tiatr
is as follows:-
(a) The tiatrs should be produced in its original format. This format
includes 6 or 7 acts (podd’dde) with at least 4 ‘cantos’ and comedy
linked to the story of the play.
(b) Besides it must have at least 10 ‘Kantaram’ which includes at least
2 Duets, 1 Duo, 1 Trio, 1 Quartet, 1 Choral Song and Solos.
In case the script of tiatr and lyrics of songs do not conform to the
given format of tiatr, the application will not be accepted.
The Rules and Regulations including the details of the unique format of
Tiatr and the Application form are available in the office of TAG during
office hours. The last date to submit the Application along with the
other required details of the tiatr is 1st February 2012 before 4:00 pm.
One typed copy each of the script and one typed copy each of the songs
(kantaram) must be submitted along with the application. Handwritten
scripts and lyrics will not be accepted.
Directors/Producers of popular tiatrs are requested to go through the
rules and regulations carefully and submit the Application form to TAG’s
office, Block A, 2nd Floor, Campal Trade Centre, Campal, Panjim within
