JC,
Most appreciated.
Will keep this at the back of my mind, always.
BTW: Today I told the motley gathering that Indians kicked the Portuguese
out but failed to kick out their mining leases.
:-))
Cheers
Flo
PS: Say hello to Ema

COMMENT:
My dear Floriano,
Trust your lovely family and you are well. The best of wishes for 2012.
Perhaps, my following comment is based on my understanding of:
a: Why the name "United Goans" was selected by Jack & Co.
b: Why businesses choose certain names for new products and business
houses.
c: Why certain products fail in certain markets
As a part son-in-law of Aldona, I wish Julius well......very well indeed.
However, (I will repeat) ANY new party or movement etc with a name
like Andolan, Awaz, Paksh, Sanghatana, etc will face the same success
- in certain markets - as an electronic item (or Radio) with a name
like Jhankar at this point and time.
Over the past 35 years, Goans have seen a zillion parties spring up
with ALL kinds of names. Like businesses and business products (on the
market without adequate market research), they have come and gone. (So
have the issues.)
Perhaps, when the Bihari, Hyderabadi or Dillification of Goa occurs in
toto, the above conclusion will be subject to revision.
ps: Do you not see the rebirth of certain Purtuguez names of business
establishments in Goa? Surely, you know why.
