DKA TO ORGANIZE KONKNNI ONE-ACT PLAY WRITING WORKSHOP
Not too long ago, Konkani One Act Plays were a popular form of
performing art in the villages of Goa. These one Act Plays not only gave
a boost to the literary development of the language in dramatic form, it
also helped to bring out the hidden talents in youths to script short
plays. For many dramatically inclined youth the One Act Plays were a
launching pad for professional careers on the Tiatr stage.
However, with changing times as well as due to financial constraints,
the popularity of the Once Act Plays gradually began to diminish during
the last decade. Inorder to once again revive the healthy trend of
Konkani One Act Plays Competition, Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) will be
organizing Konknni One Act Play writing workshop on 22nd January, 2012
(Sunday), at Margao Ravindra Bhavan’s Black Box at 10.00 am.
Well known Konknni One Act Play writer having rich experience in this
literary form Hanumant Chopdekar, Associate Professor of Konknni at Smt.
Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science will be the resource person.
