I would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to my Canadian Goan friend Roland
Francis.
Roland is a typical Niz Goenkar and loves everything Goan.
Roland with his ever-smiling face makes you feel very comfortable with his
jovial conversation full of intellect, wide knowledge about Goa and the world,
politics, history, personalities, etc. It's fun to be with Roland anywhere,
especially when I see him at Goan parties, community soirees, Goan village
socials, etc.
Roland and his family are great hosts and they will shower Goan ambience all
around you when you are their guests, along with a group of friends comprising
of who-is-who of Goan society in Toronto, who show up regularly at his posh
home in Toronto.
I wish Roland great health and happiness so I can share more of his experiences
and narratives with Goans in Goa, Mumbai, Middle East, Canada and the world.
I count Roland Francis as one of the great Goan writers and raconteurs I ever
met in my life, especially when you see his writings on Anglo-Indians of
Bombay, Goan life in Dhobitalao and other factual stories on the net. I hope he
comes up with a book of his own. I am sure Frederick Noronha already made this
request of him.
Roland, here is to your great health, with a fresh Goan fenni in my hand.
Bessaum Tujer Poddum Re! Dhonia Deva Bapachem, VIVA!
