TAG’s Kantaram Competition
Tiatr Academy Goa (TAG) will organize its annual competition of Konkani
songs (Kantaram) on 12th February 2012 from 10:00 am onwards at TAG’s
Conference Hall, Campal Trade Centre, Campal, Panjim. The competition is
limited to singing of duets, duos, trios, quartets and choral songs.
TAG has observed that the singing of duets, duos, trios, quartets and
choral songs is becoming less day by day and hence TAG has felt the need
to encourage singers of duets, duos, trios, quartets and choral songs by
organizing the competition.
● The song sung by a male and a female singer is called a duet. The
lyrics should be of interactive nature. The two singers depict two
different characters. ● Duo is a song sung by two male singers or two
female singers. The lyrics of these songs too are of interactive nature.
The two singers are two different characters. ● Trio is a song sung by
three singers which may include all males or all females or males and
females. The lyrics of this song are also of interactive nature and the
three singers depict three different characters. ● Quartet is a song
sung by four singers which may include all males, all females or males
and females. The lyrics of this song too are of interactive nature and
the four singers depict four different characters. ● Choral song is a
song which is sung by two, three or four singers. They can be all males,
all females or males and females. It must be compulsorily sung in
different voices.
There are attractive cash prizes and certificates for the best duet,
best duo, best trio, best quartet and best choral songs. Besides cash
prizes and certificates will also be awarded to best lyrics composer and
best music composer.
The participating singers will be given reimbursement of the expenditure
they have made on to and fro transport.
The writing of music and rehearsal will take place on 10th February 2012
from 10:00 am onwards at the TAG’s Conference Hall.
The last date to apply on the prescribed Application Form is 7th
February 2012. Typed copy of the lyrics of the songs must be submitted
along with the Application Form. The rules and regulations along with
the prescribed Application Form are available at the office of TAG
during office hours.
