Yesterday morning I happened to go to Panjim and some furious digging
activity on the pavement outside the Police Headquarters (erstwhile cuartel
caught my curious eye. It looked like a 30c.m dia pvc medium grade pipe was
being laid from under the Police Station joining with the pipe passing
along side the Institute Menezes Braganca Building perpendicular to the
river front. Obvious conclusion that the pipe was ultimately leading to the
Mandovi.
Since the pipe was a medium grade pipe, the obvious purpose was to convey
sewage/ sullage to the Mandovi.
So now in addition to the crap from the Casino tin cans, Goans can look
forward to Police sh1t polluting the sacred waters of the Mandovi.
An afterthought: "Are the alphabetical soup of CCP, PCB, PWD, Directorate
of Health and the plethora of Agencies which supposedly guard our
environment aware of this?"
