Very good observations Nisser Dias, you made some excellent and very
relevant points in this article. As for Yuri's priority to stop water
supply to entire South Goa... his father and other miners are already on
their way of doing that by ruining all the water tables by illegally
mining below water tables in Goa. In any case, stopping water to entire
South Goa supplied by Selaulim Dam might be a good thing - as the
content of heavy metals in that water is probably already above the
acceptable levels due to the 19 mines operating illegally close to the
water reservoir....
What I would like to know is how to prevent Yuri from winning the
elections. Anyone knows who else is contesting elections in Sanguem?
Are we going to allow Yuri to run loose without any strong opposition
against mining in Sanguem? How many more members of this Alemão family
in power can Goa cope with? How can we tolerate the continuous rise
and growth of governance incompetence in Goa? I despair!
