Dear Carmen,
Yes, the 'rays of hope' as you call them will be just that in the vacuous
darkness without there being a SYSTEM OF GOVERNANCE attached. In other
words, Legislators will be doing the jobs of SARPANCHAS whereas we need
LEGISLATORS to steer GOA away from the disastrous course it is lead on.
But I say 'NO' to your mild pessimism of GOA having to go under the BLACK
RULE for another FIVE YEARS.
This can be changed even at this election and I believe the situation is
just ripe.
You know the story of DAVID v/s GOLIATH. Goa, with the help of you people
could resurrect this story on 3 March, 2012.
Simply by filling the baskets of little DAVIDs in all 40 Constituencies with
tremendous power of votes as sling-shots so that all these GOLIATHs aka
NARKARURAs are slayed, in this manner:
An advisory (alert) to sensible Goan Voters
"Do replicate the Japanese Tsunami in Goa on March 3, 2012 -To wash away
Goa's political dirt."

I guess it is back to the drawing board for me....
I don't have much hope to see any significant changes in the coming
elections as most choices are diabolic!
While there are some rays of hope if Fr Bismarque and Hubert Gomes win,
they will be just that - rays of hope in a very dark black sky. In
practice
it will be another 5 years of damage, much of it irreversible for our poor
little Goa. ...
Perhaps the only way is to spend the next five years educating the
electorate and encouraging more educated and honest people with vision to
contest the next elections.
As for Navelim...any ideas? Perhaps IT raiders missed a few people from
the
list...? Is Mr 20% paying tax for all those 20% kickbacks from the
construction industry, I wonder !
