I was there at the Calvim Bus tragedy and I have corvered it with photographs. But Cancellation the Carnaval is something that I had never even imagined. One must remember that an accident is an unplanned thing. It can happen at any time. But a planned event like carnaval is something else. Yes, these guys give excuses on purpose to cancel the carnaval. These guys think it is the Christian ritual. Would they cancel the Dandiya ras or the holi celebrations if something like Calvim happened?
Digu was waiting for an excuse. First, it was the elections. These guys knew that Carnaval was in Feb. Yet they decided to have elections in Goa in Feb when they were due in June. Why? Election Commission overriding? My bloody foot. This was done on purpose. Then, the Election Commission faltered with the silly excuse that no permission was taken. Why should the Carnaval permission be taken from the stupid Election Commission? Carnaval is an yearly sensitive and touristic event of GOA dammit !. The Election Commission has no business to interfere with this event. Lastly, if I was the CM or even the PM, and if my own family member had died from an accident or whatever, the Carnaval or any planned event would go on. Period. Dump this Congress corrupt and communal government come March 3. CARNAVAL SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CANCELLED AT THE LAST MOMENT and too like this. Talking about cancelling planned events at the last moment:- The big mouth, so called Adv. Yatish Naik, when he wanted the event of garlanding of Dr. Jack de Sequeira's portrait at the Azad Maidan on 15 March 2011 at the mega rally of GOEMCHEA RAKHONDARANCHO AWAZ, I had point blank objected to it and had told him that good leaders never cancel planned and polished events at the last moment because some mergerites did not like it. But he did not listen. Today the GRA is not with Yatish Naik. It is with Floriano Lobo. And the reason is just that. Cheers floriano GRA-GSRP 9890470896 ----- Original Message ----- From: "karen fernandes" <karen.gayl...@googlemail.com> To: <goa...@goanet.org> Sent: Saturday, February 18, 2012 10:55 PM Subject: Re: [Goanet] NEWS: Goa carnival cancelled after school bus falls into river (TNN-Times of India) > Is this serious!!!!! > > Sounds like somebody was waiting for a reason to cancel the Casrnival.
