Santosh,
The first President of Tanzania, Julius Nyerere, identified the enemies of
Tanzania as:
IGNORANCE, POVERTY and DISEASE.
As the years go by, I realize that while Nyerere hit the nail on the head so
early,
the above are not the enemies of Tanzania alone. They are the enemies of
the world.
To get rid of disease, you have to get rid of poverty. And to get rid of
poverty,
you have to get rid of ignorance.
Education is the key.
Secondly, no amount of laws or law enforcement is going to stop conversions.
There is always someone benefiting from the conversions and the people
who are opposed (many times violently) to conversions are those who
stand to lose the most.
The police and legal systems only serve to provide temporary relief. A
properly educated person, on the other hand, will understand that one
need not depend on a god to avoid marginalization.
Finally, religious hatred is not going to lessen because of laws. Religious
hatred will lessen only when there is free and comprehensive secular
education available to all in the society.
