Beware Goans! The BJP manifesto for Goa is the height of 'Parrikarionics' which
appears to be driving Goa into a BHIKARI GOA with doles, schemes, waiver of
interest on loans, etc. The migrant friendly BJP now seeks to reduce the
domicile period to just 10 years for availing government facilities. The
Village Panchayats are going to be weakened with the abolishing of house tax by
making them exclusively dependent of government funds. It looks like migrant
squatters on Communidade and Goan lands and in shanties will be given a golden
hand shake by BJP. As expected lip service is being paid to setting up of a
minority commission without specifying a deadline. Interestingly a functional
Human Rights Commission has no place in BJP's governance. The much condemned
mining and real estate will actually get a boost going by the infrastructure
promises in the manifesto. Local Self governments will only be given a mere
consultative role without independent powers. This BJP manifesto wo
uld actually translate into the elimination of Goans from the race by 2017.
