TAG’s 3rd Popular Tiatr Festival
3rd Popular Tiatr Festival organized by Tiatr Academy Goa will get
underway when the 1st tiatr of the festival ‘Kristanv’ written and
directed by Menino de Bandar will be staged on 29th February 2012 at
3:30 pm at the Pai Tiatrist Joao Agostinho Fernandes Auditorium,
Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
In all 7 popular tiatrs will be competing to prove their superiority in
performance, acting, singing, direction, stage setting, light effects,
costumes, etc, etc. ‘Pirai’ written and directed by Maxy Pereira will be
staged on 1st March 2012 while ‘Kurl’lio’ written and directed by Oldrin
Sequeira will be performed on 5th March 2012. ‘Mog Mogan Jiye’ by
Comedian Domnic will be staged on 7th March 2012, ‘Xirlo’ written and
directed by Mario Menezes on 8th March, ‘Konnuch Noko’ written and
directed by Jack Rodson on 9th March and ‘Uleak Zap Di’ by Prince Jacob
on the last day i.e 10th March 2012.
Tiatr Academy Goa organizes this Popular Tiatr Festival every year with
an aim to improve the standard and preserve the traditional format of
tiatr. As per the rules and regulations of the 3rd Popular Tiatr
Festival the tiatr should be presented in its traditional format i.e 6
or 7 acts (podd’ddes) with at least 4 Cantos and comedy should be linked
to the story of the play. Besides the tiatr must have at least 10 songs
(Kantaram) which includes at least 2 Duets, 1 Duo, 1 Trio, 1 Quartet and
1 Choral Song besides Solos.
Awards in all compartments of the tiatr such as performance, acting,
direction, singing, lyrics and script will be awarded to the deserving
artistes.
The awards will be announced in a special award distribution function on
Monday, the 12th March 2012 at 3:30 pm at the Pai Tiatrist Hall,
Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
Shri. Roseferns, a popular tiatr artiste will be the Chief Guest for the
inaugural function and light the traditional lamp to mark the
inauguration of 3rd Popular Tiatr Festival on 29th March at 3:30 pm at
Pai Tiatrist Hall. This will be followed by the staging of the first
tiatr of the festival ‘Kristanv’.
A nominal ticket of Rs. 40/- has been kept so that majority of people
can attend the shows.
