Today is the Holi Celebrations. Do look out who is celebrating in our towns
and cities and what sort of celebration this is. In GRA's letter to our
FINMIN Pranab-bab Mukerjee, we have said:
d) Protection of our culture and ethos from the dominant cultures of
India which have the potential of extinguishing the local one.
I gave a lift to a Hindu shopkeeper friend from Mapusa to Moira a few hours
back. And this is what he had to say seeing the migrant's revelry in Holi
celebrations:
' Ami Holi celebrate korinaum re irmao? Ami Holi Goean kednanch celebrate
korunk na? Punn oxi? Amchi Holi festival gantiam'kuch podlea xhi dista. Sur
marun, odlim odlim musikam gallun rostear nachop ani miroup. Enkam konn
kitench montolo nam. Yem zalam amchem Goem."
And when I told him a few things about Special Status, he was thankful that
something like this is going to happen to his dear GOA.

In Parrikar we Trust?
Hope the coming government will stand by its promises with regard to the
Pension to seafarers. The last government was the worst for Goa and it is
the unity of the Goans irrespective of religion sacked and packed the
heavyweights especially in Salcette except Digamber Kamat as his political
career survives on migrants.
We really don’t have any problems with regard to migrants coming to Goa to
earn their daily bread but the Parrikar government should not sell our
rights in the name of ration cards to these migrants and Goa cannot afford
to use her precious land for rehabilitating the migrants.
Last but not the least,niz goenkars worked hard to sack and pack the last
government. We as parents don’t demand stars from the sky from the
government but with regard to MOI the same should be as per the choice of
the parent. People like me don’t have any problems with BBSM and
likeminded people so for god’s sake don’t make an issue out of MOI which
is not an issue at all.
We the service people completed our role; it’s time to go back to work
hoping that Manohar Parrikar and his team will keep their promises.VIVA
