A nicely designed and well edited newsletter from the Dept. of English of St. Xavier's College Mapusa called Eloquence came my way. Although there are a couple of contributions from the professors (Dead Poets Society by Prema Rocha and Does Goan Literature Ring a Bell in Your Head by Sunita Mesquita) it is by and large a creation of the students.
Edited by Silverio Souza and designed by Joshua Jason D'Cunha the newsletter contains contributions like poems by Anita Mohite, Sumati Thakur, Karenina Cotta (her parents obviously read Tolstoy) and Jason D'Cunha; essays on Dickens by Aditi Silveira, and , and The Jaipur literary Fest by Sharanaya Padmajan; book reviews of Khaled Hosseini 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' by Yashodhara Rao; a report on Exodus 2012 by Lianne Caldeira; comics, riddles, a quiz ... It's a pity they didn't put the contents online for more people to read and enjoy.
