The swearing-in of the 22nd. GOA Government with Manohar Parrikar as Goa's Chief Minister has departed from the traditional swearing-ins that have taken place in Goa's Cabo-Raj-Niwas for the past 21 times [in Goa's invaded, annexed and so-called-LIBERATED history of 50 years] and has given way to a mega-hype public swearing-in ceremony which hopefully is not a trailer of the showy, shallow, superficial and hype-ridden next Government to come.

To our mind, Manohar Parrikar aka BJP should have desisted from this mega-show, of putting the people of Goa to much inconvenience for such a short and meaningful ceremony to start with, and should have followed the tradition of executing the swearing-in as usual, at Cabo-Raj-Niwas and from there gone on to strike off each and every promise made to Goa and Goans by him and his BJP. But, who are we to criticize? There is an overbearing euphoria in Goa which is resultant from the humiliation and devastation meted-out to the crowing CONGRESS PARTY, and to that extent we are more than overjoyed. We have gone on record to say that this is not the VICTORY for the BJP as such but the GLOW shifted to the BJP from the defeated and humiliated CONGRESS. We have congratulated the Goa BJP, and especially Manohar Parrikar for this 'fait acompli' and we shall keep on congratulating him and his government as long as he and his BJP does not depart from the new and challenging Road Map he has opened up and inaugurated for Goa. To put it mildly, our watch starts from today.

We do hope that BJP goes on executing swearing-in ceremonies in 2017, and thereafter, to maintain this departing tradition of conducting these ceremonies at the Cabo Raj Niwas and we shall be relieved of the burden of breaking our heads to bring peace, prosperity and the much needed respect to GOA and GOANS by way of simple, down-to-earth-Good-Governance to Goa. But should this not happen in the near future, we shall want to take the tradition of swearing-in of new governments back to Cabo-Raj Niwas where it belongs, if required even in 2017 itself, for a quite and meaningful swearing-in of GOA's 23rd. Government.

We are happy to see that Manohar Parrikar has come close to but not quite, our vision of swearing-in a Cabinet of just 5, the full and final swearing-in of the Goa Su-Raj cabinet that will take place with only 5 members taking oath of office and which also will include the Chief Minister. This will be preceded by a PARTY CONVENTION [preferably held at 'Menezes Braganza Hall, Panjim], where just 130 or so delegates will be selecting/electing the 'Cabinet of Five', which selection/election will be of the Chief Minister alone, with his/her four Cabinet colleagues showing up automatically through a process of double balloting. Thus selected CABINET members, fully and completely fortified with their respective portfolio lists, shall then march off to the CABO RAJ NIWAS, Dona Paula, to take the Oath of Office.

Come next day, the Government of Goa will be in place and running.

We do hope that Manohar Parrikar and his BJP does delay this from happening as we too are much tired-out and want some time to rest and appreciate the improved GOVERNANCE OF GOA under the leadership of Manohar Parrikar and his BJP.
