No doubt about it, elections can be very cruel to the appointed.
Also, since no one has commented on this, let me be the first to
congratulate the Election Commission of India for conducting a
free and fair election (again) in Goa.
Finally, my congratulations to the electorate, all 82% of them who
exercised their right to vote.
