The people were told that the ground was making way for a new mobile phone tower. Mr Cyril Demello is known for such gimmicks. He tried the same stunts in
Aldona, but was denied permission by the Gram Sabha to set up a tower in
a residential area. He has still gone ahead and installed a Tower
without the requisite permissions albeit in a less populated area.
